Character Kids Club (CKC) School Year Care/Summer School Before and After School Care Welcome to the Character Kids Club Program (CKC), the Fox C-6 School District’s child care program for students attending Building Blocks and Kindergarten-5th grade. Character Kids Club (CKC) is a unique childcare program offered in your child's elementary school. This program offers child care each morning before school, and each afternoon after dismissal. Participating students engage in homework time, arts and crafts, gym time, and outside play time. Our Family Handbook is designed to familiarize you with the program’s philosophies and procedures. Please review this handbook carefully, and if you have any questions about procedures, please feel free to ask our CKC staff or call our office. The procedures within this handbook are not to exclude or supersede Fox C-6 District policies. Character Kid’s Club will update and amend its procedures as situations warrant. Please note: Unlike a typical daycare center, CKC operates within school buildings and works in conjunction with the district calendar and various district departments. The program operates as often as possible to assist and serve our families; however, closures due to weather, staff training, and location changes are necessary to ensure building upkeep, improvements, and overall safety are met for our students and families. Thus, our year round options and various days throughout the school year do leave days and weeks without the option of care. Program Hours: Morning Hours: 6:15 AM - School Begins Afternoon Hours: Dismissal - 6:15 PM Full Day Care Character Kids Club offers Full Day Care during the school year on extended breaks. Dates Full Day Care is offered for the 25-26 school year includes: December 22-23, 2025; Registration will open on November 3 at 7:00am and close on December 5 at 4:00pm. December 29-30, 2025; Registration will open on November 3 at 7:00am and close on December 5 at 4:00pm. March 16-20, 2026; Registration will open on January 26 at 7:00am and close on February 27 at 4:00pm. ***Please note that all Full Days are currently at capacity. Any additional registrations will be placed on a waitlist; however, we cannot guarantee that any spots will open before winter break. We encourage families to make alternate childcare arrangements as needed.*** All care will take place at the Fox Service Center (849 Jeffco Blvd, Arnold MO) from 7:00am-5:30 pm. Pre-registration is required. NO walk-ins the day of service will be permitted. Children will need a sack lunch, a morning and an afternoon snack, and a refillable water bottle. Camp operates Monday through Friday from 6:45 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Our CKC Summer Camps are organized by grade level and give children the opportunity to choose from a variety of weekly themed adventures, creating a fun, engaging, and age-appropriate summer experience. Location: All Summer Camp programming will take place at Simpson Elementary School. Dates of Care: July 6–July 30, 2026 No care will be provided on July 31, 2026 Families are encouraged to review the Summer Camp Handbook for detailed information about camp themes, activities, and expectations. Building Blocks is a full day preschool program designed to provide a solid foundation for your child’s kindergarten readiness. Explore, Get Set, and Go! School Year Registration 2026-2027 Community Registration will open on March 30, 2026 at 8:00am. To qualify for Building Blocks Preschool in the 2026-2027 school year, children must be 3 years old on or before February 28, 2026 and must NOT turn 5 years of age on or before July 31, 2026. Children must also be completely toilet trained & completely independent in the restroom. Building Blocks students will be using restrooms throughout the elementary buildings shared by other students in various grade levels. Building Blocks Preschool Classrooms are located within various elementary buildings throughout the school district. Our current classrooms are located in: Fox Elementary, Meramec Heights Elementary, Rockport Heights Elementary, and Seckman Elementary. Parents must understand that unlike a “typical” preschool, their children will be in an elementary school building, in a regular classroom, following a school routine. Our program operates Monday-Friday. Classroom hours are: Early tier buildings: 7:15am-3:15pm Late tier buildings: 8:15am-4:15pm Wee Ones Summer Registration Wee Ones Summer Day Camp is for registered Building Blocks Preschool Students. This program offers care from 6:45am-5:30pm, with the structured camp activities between 8:00am-3:30pm each day. The camp is supervised by Building Blocks teachers, aides, and CKC staff. Wee Ones will operate in the summer of 2026 from June 1 -June 26 and July 6-30, with the program closed on June 19, and closed from June 29-July 3. Your child must be 3 years of age by February 28, 2026, and completely potty-trained to participate. Camp opportunities will be offered at Don Earl Early Childhood Center in JUNE and Simpson Elementary in JULY. BEFORE YOU BEGIN REGISTRATION Please note that you are required to upload all documentation to complete this registration. Required documentation includes: Birth Certificate Immunization Records 2 Proofs of Residence (List A and List B)
